So my first attempt at a traffic study was a bust, but this gave me a better understanding on how to organize and record the data we will be collecting. Who would have thought I would be doing a traffic study in Jamaica and counting cars? I guess all that stuff I learned in Planning Methods I & II will come in useful after all! Not quite what I was expecting but when you’re working in a place like Jamaica you should always expect the unexpected and you have to be willing to roll up your sleeves and do your best with what you are given. Not too sure if pedistrianizing Water Square is the best idea, but having more data and information on how the Square is utilized now is a vital step in any design decisions that are made.
