After months of planning and a week of ICOMOS orientation in Washington D.C., we finally made it to the shores of Jamaica and the small town of Falmouth. It’s been a bit of a whirlwind to say the least. After arriving Saturday evening on Air Jamaica to a very full house at the Falmouth Heritage Renewal (20 plus University of Virginia field school students and a bunch of board members) and a plate of curried goat, we got a good & hot nights sleep in a very crowded historic building that use to be an old mason’s lodge. Don’t forget to tuck in your mosquito net! To learn more about the organization I'll be working with, please visit: www.falmouthjamaica.org
