What would you do if you returned to Jamaica?

I don’t know what was a better adventure or taste of Jamaica, the tourist tour of the Seville Great House and a horse back ride through the jungle down to the beach, or the local bus ride home… Don’t get me wrong it was amazing to ride horses through the forest and end up on the white sands of Saint Ann’s Bay, wrapping it off with a ride through the water with the waves glistening in the sun. But that can’t compare to the bus ride back to Falmouth.

Now the thing to know about Jamaica buses is they don’t really leave or arrive on a set schedule, they take off when the van is full and by full I mean FULL. So after about a 45-minute wait the bus driver felt there were enough people in the bus to make it worthwhile. We were off, flying down the A-1 to Falmouth with one of the passengers yelling “ Mo-Bay, Mo-Bay” at everyone we pass hoping to pick up an extra fair for the driver. Just when I thought we were running at full capacity, we stopped to pick up more passengers – 5 old ladies on their way to church. Four were stuffed into the van, but by the time the bus drive got to the fifth, she had second thoughts on the seating arrangements so the other four gave up and piled back out to wait for the next ride with her. Truly, a life changing experience. Everyone was in a great mood! I think everyone thought we were crazy when we jumped out at the Falmouth exit but it really was a experience I will remember for a long time!
