Despite the weather, we decided to make the trip down to Ochi Rios, about 30 minutes east of Falmouth on Jamaica’s north cost. Once a sleepy fishing village in Saint Ann’s Parish, Ochi is a unique town that has reinvented itself a few times over. First, with the bauxite boom (bauxite is one of the main ingredients in Aluminum) and than again with the tourism industry. A lot like Colorado in that respect. This tourist Mecca is one of the main port of calls for cruse ships to Jamaica and close to Dunns River Falls. It’s a fun little town that is easily to get around and relatively safe. I felt right at home with the Hard Rock Café and even a Greek restaurant. Sadly, NO Godfathers... But what you gonna do?
