After a day of meetings its always great to get back out in the field for some more old fashioned car counting and field observations. This time I set up shop at the intersection of Tharp Street and Harbor Street. Harbor Street is one of the main entryways into Falmouth and most traffic coming East from Ocho Rios comes along this road. This is also a unique intersection for another reason; these roads affect two important historic resources in the community. The old foundry as well as the Tharp house are both located within a stones throw of each other at this intersection. Any recommendations or changes regarding these roads will have a big impact on these two historic structures. This area is a critical entry point into the town and should be the focal point for any future development proposals. There is so much potential for this area, if it is handled properly and done right.
