Time for one last day of traffic study data collection before the weekend, yippee…. I’m stationed on the corner of Falmouth Street and Lower Parade diligently counting cars and taking notes. This would sound pretty boring to most people, but doing it in Jamaica adds a very unique touch. Fruit sellers trying to sell you bread fruit or mangos, an angry Rasta man shaking his fist at you, the smell of jerk as a vendor rolls by on his push cart, and my new buddy, Dandy, a master craftsman who is carving my name on a walking stick. Hey at least this is one souvenir that I know was not made in China. Another week done and now it is time to relax and enjoy a well deserved weekend under the Jamaican sun!
